Historical Bows by String King
After years of experimenting with strings and different types of bows, their holding positions and playing techniques we obtained a certain amount of practical experience. String King offers our own bows based on historical models, which work very well even with very heavy stringing.
We strongly advocate baroque models with clip-in frogs - the sound they
produce is superior to those with modern screw mechanism.
Many string players find it difficult to regulate a tension of clip-in type
of bows. String King has the solution - clip-in frog with a screw mechanism incorporated. It is a new invention (although technically within reach for baroque makers) but it preserves the spirit of a original bow much more than replacing a clip-in frog with a traditional screw mechanism. This way one can combine the best of both worlds - a sound of clip-in frog and an ease and precision of a screw mechanism. No more pieces of strings, paper etc. to put under the bow hair! All the baroques models (with original baroque clip-in frog) can be ordered with this new String King invention. It is even possible to order the screw-frog for your own clip in bow - the weight remains almost unchanged.
