The fingerboard has an extra space left between the purfling and the upper saddle so the luthier can adjust it to the particular neck's length.
The maple thickness on both sides is 5 mm so it is possible to adjust to the neck's breadth.

Maple with ebony purfling

breadth - 33-66 mm

Fingerboard:
Maple veneer with ebony purfling
length - 560 mm
breadth - 35-66 mm
