Baroque Bridges by Despiau
Beside strings, another important factor in trying to get the best sound from an instrument is the set up and adjustment, especially in connection with changing the stringing profile. Experiments (even quite radical) with the placing of the sound post can always be recommended but, surprisingly enough for some, the choice of bridge model has a major impact on the performance of an instrument. We can supply many models of baroque bridge and we strongly recommend adjusting several different models to your instrument to find out which one functions best for just you. Your violin maker can do it for a relatively low cost and you often get a “new” and better instrument. You can later quickly and easily exchange and compare these adjusted bridges yourself, using the String Lifter.

Baroque Bridges by Milo Stamm:
A different bridge model can change the tone of your instrument in a desirable direction – make a dull instrument brighter and a shrill one rounder. String King offers several models of bridge based on originals connected with great instrument makers or violinists from the 17th and 18th centuries.

Rudolph Fiedler - Fine Fittings
There has recently been a resurgence in interest in early baroque music and the unique instruments used to play this music. The Rudolph Fiedler workshop is one of the leading makers of gambas in Europe and has dedicated itself to the rediscovery of the techniques used to make these early instruments. The baroque fittings Rudolph Fiedler produces are based on the work of Antonio Stradivari as documented in Simone F. Sacconi´s book entitled "I 'Segreti' di Stradivari". The gamba fittings are made according to Rudolf Fiedler´s own high standards of production.
